Ladybug Birthday Party

Eva's 2nd birthday party was ladybug themed. Ladybug has become her nickname around our house, so the theme seemed perfect. When I asked her if she wanted an Elmo or a ladybug party, she even chose ladybug. So, it was a definite winner.

On party day, Eva's friends came over. Each friend got a ladybug mask. They played with toys. Then played pin the dot on the ladybug (minus the blindfold... c'mon, it's a party for 2 year olds!). Next we had a picnic in our backyard. After, we had a ladybug hunt in the house for small construction paper ladybugs. Then Eva opened presents and we had ladybug cake and ice cream. We ended the party with a ladybug hunt in our backyard with live ladybugs! (Yes, you can order 300 ladybugs from amazon for pretty cheap!) Eva had so much fun and she loves looking back at the pictures and video taken from that day.

On Eva's real birthday, she opened her present in the morning and then we sang happy birthday over birthday muffins. We headed to the zoo and they had a special scavenger hunt going on that day. Eva loved being at the zoo with the whole family (Daddy is usually working when we go) and the weather was beautiful! Then we at lunch at Eva's very favorite restaraunt: Subway. She loves to cheer "SUBWAY!" and throw her hands in the air. We ended her special day with her favorite dinner: macoroni and cheese. It was a perfectly Eva day. She was one happy 2 year old.
